The minutes were approved by consensus.
Windy shared with the group a report called ‘Taft College Course Passing Rates Fall 2019 to Fall 2020.’ This report was generated by IR. It showed the passing rates for all courses over those two semesters, college level English & Math, and courses that were taken as pass/no pass. The passing rate didn’t change much between Fall 2019 and Fall 2020 with the passing rates differing 1% between two of the groups and by 4% for the college level math group. The group commented that looking at passing rates prior to AB705 would be helpful & that this report doesn’t tell us if the student took a basic skills course prior to the college level course. Leslie shared the Enrollment Summary report that she looks at regularly to track enrollment, course counts, and FTES.
This item was folded into the ‘other’ discussion.
Leslie shared the SEM Purpose Statement by from IEPI and CCC. The goal is to create a strategic enrollment management plan based on guided pathways. This would be the committee’s work for the rest of the semester, and the survey results would be folded into the SEM plan. The group agreed that creating the SEMP should be the work for the remainder of the Spring semester. |
