1:00 COUNSELING CONFERENCE ROOM

1. California Acceleration Project (Kamala)

Kamala, Lori, and Juana attended the CAP Design and Development Institute in October. Kamala gave an example of a math course with a co-requisite that a faculty member from another community college shared about. Lori brought handouts. One handout was of what other colleges do for co-requisite remediation in math and English. The other was a table illustrating transfer placement at different colleges and in other states.

2. November Basic Skills Webinar updates (Lori)

Lori brought powerpoint slides from the latest basic skills coordinators webinar. Talked about how we may or may not get money from the final 25 % of the allocation. This final percentage is if you implemented strategies as outlined in the BSSOT grant for the 2014-2015 co-hort.

3. Basic Skills conversations with Math, English, Counseling (Lori)

Lori discussed how she has met with both Math and English faculty regarding basic skills. She is also meeting with the counselors this Thursday.

4. Guided Pathways

Committee went through first six points of the Guided Pathways self assessment and discussed how each applies to basic skills.
