{"id":111,"date":"2012-11-05T21:22:47","date_gmt":"2012-11-05T21:22:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ct-test-wp.taftcollege.edu\/academicsenate\/?p=111"},"modified":"2012-11-05T21:22:47","modified_gmt":"2012-11-05T21:22:47","slug":"academic-senate-november-5-2012-minutes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/committees.taftcollege.edu\/academic-senate\/academic-senate-november-5-2012-minutes\/","title":{"rendered":"Academic Senate, November 5, 2012 &#8211; Minutes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>Taft College Academic Senate Minutes <\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Monday, November 5, 2012 Cougar Conference Room<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Attendees<\/strong>: Jennifer Altenhofel, Kanoe Bandy, Wendy Berry, Darcy Bogle, Kamala Carlson,<\/p>\n<p>Chris Chung-Wee, Bill Devine, Candace Duron, John Eigenauer, Juana Escobedo, Sharyn Eveland, Tori Furman, Shelly Getty, Jessica Grimes, Greg Golling, Vicki Herder, Craig Johnson, Diane Jones, David Layne, Mariza Martinez, Tim Markowitz, Mike Mayfield, Michelle Oja, Ruby Payne,<\/p>\n<p>Joseph Polizzotto, Robin Polski, Jeff Ross, Rebecca Roth, Sonja Swenson, Stefanie Walsh, Linda West The meeting was called to order at 12:07 p.m.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Review of October 1, 2012 Senate Minutes<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The minutes were approved as presented.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Division Chair Presentations for Faculty Positions<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The following division chairs presented the rationale for new faculty positions:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Kamala Carlson, Liberal Arts, English<\/li>\n<li>Sonja Swenson, Liberal Arts, Studio Art<\/li>\n<li>Sharyn Eveland, Social Science, CJA and Sociology<\/li>\n<li>Kanoe Bandy, Applied Technology, Business<\/li>\n<li>Greg Golling, Math\/Science, Physical Science, Math, Physical Education<\/li>\n<li>Vicki Herder, Learning Support, Counselor<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Presentation materials for each position are attached to the minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Tony asked faculty to submit ranking sheets for the positions by Wednesday. Submit the sheets to the mailroom or his office.
