IV.             DISCUSSION ITEMS

A.      Submission of SLOs concurrently with CORs for new courses and course updates.

This stems from R. Sigel’s and G. Dyer’s review of accreditation standards. It was noted by D. Layne that SLOs are revisited annually with program review. Discussion also included courses that are being added to the general education pattern, and the need to look at SLOs at the same time. S. Eveland noted that general education SLOs are taken from Title V, so perhaps it should be stated in the memo that the SLOs are have been reviewed at that time.

B.      Update: ADMJ old and new courses- repeating and using “formerly” language. This was discussed in the Catalog Workgroup meeting that was held on September 10th where the ADMJ CORs were reviewed and agreed upon consensus that the “formerly” statement be removed from the appropriate ADMJ courses. The ADMJ CORs were resubmitted and approved by the Chancellor’s Office.

This is an informational piece. It was also noted that since the ADMJ courses were approved, the ADMJ transfer degree has also been submitted and is awaiting approval.

C.      General Education Matrix

This is an informational piece and will be coming back to Curriculum committee next month with suggestions for additions to the local general education pattern.

D.     Addition of the semester effective date to COR

It was noted that it would be the Curriculum Technician who would add the semester effective date on the COR, and the semester effective date would be included in the top right hand corner where the date reviewed and reviewers are listed.
