  1. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: from the April 8, 2013 Curriculum & General Education Committee Meeting

 

On a motion by      Sharyn Eveland       , seconded by      Kanoe Bandy       and unanimously carried, the minutes from the April 8, 2013 Curriculum and General Education Committee meeting were approved.

 

II.      SOCIAL SCIENCES DIVISION

 

  1. Course Updates
    1. PSYC 1500     Introduction to Psychology
    2. PSYC 2003     Child Growth and Development

 

On a motion by V. Herder, seconded by D. Bogle and unanimously carried, the course updates to PSYC 1500 and PSYC 2003 were approved to move forward to the June 12, 2013 District Board meeting.

 

  1. PSYC 2205     Introduction to Research Methods in Social Science

 

On a motion by S. Swenson, seconded by V. Herder and unanimously carried, the course updates to PSYC 2205 were approved to move forward to the June 12, 2013 District Board meeting.

  1. HIST 2232     History of the United States since 1877

 

On a motion by S. Swenson, seconded by M. Williams and unanimously carried, the course HIST 2232 were approved to move forward to the June 12, 2013 District Board meeting.

 

  1. CJA 1521     Introduction to Corrections

 

On a motion by D. Bogle, seconded by M. Hines and unanimously carried, the course updates to CJA 1521 were approved to move forward to the June 12, 2013 District Board meeting.

 

  1. ECEF 1531     The Child in Family/Community Relationships

 

On a motion by D. Bogle, seconded by M. Hines and unanimously carried, the course updates to ECEF 1531 were approved to move forward to the June 12, 2013 District Board meeting.

On a motion by M. Hines, seconded by S. Swenson and unanimously carried, the course updates to STSU 1016/ STSU 1017/ STSU 1018 were approved to move forward to the June 12, 2013 District Board meeting. Darcy suggests that CID be put on the catalogue description as well as the COR.  To be discussed at Tech Review (once approved).

On a motion by D. Bogle, seconded by S. Swenson and opposed by V. Herder, the course updates to ADMJ 1501/ ADMJ 1502/ ADMJ 1503/ ADMJ 1504/ ADMJ 1505/ ADMJ 1506/ ADMJ 1507/ ADMJ 1509 were approved to

 

move forward to the June 12, 2013 District Board meeting. “Formerly” needs to be addressed.
