{"id":247,"date":"2015-01-13T20:41:22","date_gmt":"2015-01-13T20:41:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ct-test-wp.taftcollege.edu\/facilities\/?p=247"},"modified":"2015-01-13T20:41:22","modified_gmt":"2015-01-13T20:41:22","slug":"january-13-2015-minutes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/committees.taftcollege.edu\/facilities\/january-13-2015-minutes\/","title":{"rendered":"January 13, 2015 Minutes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>FACILITIES COMMITTEE MINUTES <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Tuesday, January 13, 2015<\/p>\n<p>Members Present:\u00a0\u00a0 Adrian Agundez, Brock McMurray, Carla Sandoval, Claudia Casagrande, Craig Johnson, Darcy Bogle, Jose Vargas, Kent Miller, Mark Williams, Mike Capela, Sonja Swenson, Stacie Rancano and Debbie Hegeman as recorder.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Review Minutes from December 9, 2014<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The minutes were approved by consensus.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li><strong>Project Update Report <\/strong>(Jose Vargas, AP Architects)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Projects at DSA:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Student Center <\/strong>The Division of the State Architect\u2019s Plan package was resubmitted back for final plan check at the end of 2014. AP is awaiting return of DSA comments for final coordination and approval which will be during the first quarter of 2015.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Projects in Design:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>STEM Engineering Buildings <\/strong>DSA approval was obtained at the end of 2014. The project is undergoing final construction cost calculations and should begin with modular buildings being built off-site in the Manufacturer\u2019s facilities once we have board approval. Once approved, site prep and modular building construction can commence concurrently. Anticipate construction starting March of 2015.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Scheduled Maintenance Projects:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Infrastructure Upgrade at Alley:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>AP is finalizing drawings in order to send them out to bid. Anticipate bidding project January 2015 with construction anticipated to begin March, 2015.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>PG&amp;E Electrical Service Upgrade:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>PG&amp;E is working on contracts in order to complete the PG&amp;E application\/ Design.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Gym HVAC Repairs:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>RFP (Request for Proposals) is in process; anticipate RFP being issued early January, 2015.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Gym Roof Repairs:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>AP is finalizing the RFP package to send to roofing contractors for repair work. RFP should be issued in January, 2015.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Gym Interior Repairs:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>AP is finalizing the RFP package to send to contractors for interior gym repair work. RFP should be issued January, 2015. Project scope to include interior painting of the gym along with removal and addition of sound boards and ceiling baffles for added sound mitigation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Facilities Committee Minutes<\/p>\n<p>January 13, 2015<\/p>\n<p>Page 2 of 2<\/p>\n<p><strong>Prop 39: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>HVAC Controls at G-Modular Buildings, Gym and CDC Miscellaneous:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>College has provided approval in order for contractor to begin scope of work. Currently awaiting Contracts from Contractor. Construction to begin as soon as Contracts are received, anticipate January, 2015. Project is complete.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Site Lighting LED Retrofit: <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>College has provided approval in order for contractor to begin scope of work. Currently awaiting Contracts from Contractor. Construction to begin as soon as Contracts are received, anticipate January, 2015.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Projects at the State Pending Funding:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Vocation Center <\/strong>The Vocational Center project is an approved Final Project Proposal (FPP) at the Chancellor\u2019s office. The project consists of 19,878 assignable square feet (ASF); which consists mostly of laboratories and some office space. This project will be considered for funding on the next statewide general obligation bond. The project is extremely competitive and should have a great chance at being funded.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li><strong>Facilities Master Plan <\/strong>AP presented three drawings to the committee: the current 5 Year Master Plan; a draft of the Facility Master Plan, Demolition Plan; and a draft of the proposed Facilities Master Plan, Concept Plan. The drafts are an attempt to project needs well out into the future, and is obviously contingent upon a land acquisition plan. The drafts were reviewed in detail with an open forum for feedback as to whether or not these plans meet our needs. Brock reminded the committee these drafts are a work in progress at this time however he plans to have the FMP ready for board approval by July, 2015.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>(All handouts from this meeting will be available on the Intranet) <\/em><\/p>\n<p>Next meeting: February 10, 2015, noon, cafeteria conference room.
