{"id":740,"date":"2012-09-11T15:32:52","date_gmt":"2012-09-11T15:32:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ct-test-wp.taftcollege.edu\/facilities\/?p=48"},"modified":"2012-09-11T15:32:52","modified_gmt":"2012-09-11T15:32:52","slug":"september-11-2012-minutes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/committees.taftcollege.edu\/facilities\/september-11-2012-minutes\/","title":{"rendered":"September 11, 2012 Minutes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>TAFT COLLEGE <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>FACILITIES COMMITTEE MINUTES <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Tuesday, September 11, 2012<\/p>\n<p>2:00 pm \u2013 3:00 pm<\/p>\n<p>Cougar Room<\/p>\n<p><strong>Members Present:\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong>Adrian Agundez, Carla Sandoval, Dena Maloney, Greag Hawkins, Jeff Ross, Mike Capela and Patti Bench.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Members Absent: <\/strong>Brock McMurray, Dlaudia Casagrance, Craig Johnson, Ron Errea and Sonja Swenson<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ad-hoc Member(s): <\/strong>Jose Vargas<\/p>\n<p><strong>Others Present: <\/strong>Debbie Hegeman, Recorder<\/p>\n<p><strong>PROJECT UPDATES <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> FACILITIES MASTER PLAN DRAFT \u2013 <\/strong>The report is almost complete. The document will address all that has been completed in the past with the Bond money, projects in design, and future projects on the wish list. It should be ready for the Board to approve in November or December.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PROJECTS IN DESIGN: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Student Center: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Jose distributed copies of the updated design. He also added if anyone wanted floor plan renderings of any area to contact him and he would send them out. The Student Center is currently in the Design Phase. Meetings have been held with our Student Center Committee and Design is overall 95% complete. The next milestone is to complete design and start working drawings with owner approval. The current anticipated construction start date is summer of 2014 once the dorm project has been completed. <strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>PROJECTS IN WORKING DRAWINGS: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Dorm Modernization: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Working drawings are nearing completion for the Ash Street\/TIL dorm remodel project. Plans are anticipated to go to DSA for plan check review within the next few weeks. The first phase on the Dorm project is scheduled to start during second quarter of 2013 once the new TIL Center is complete. The construction of the dorm project will run through the summer of 2013 for fall 2013 occupancy of Phase 1. Phas2 2 will then follow for an overall project completion January 2014 for spring semester use. <strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>PROJECTS IN CONSTRUCTION: <\/strong><strong>Center for Independent Living (TIL): <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Center for Independent Living project has progressed to about 60% completion through August 2012. The project over the last quarter has fallen approximately one month behind schedule. The contractor is currently preparing a recovery schedule to better the completion date. The project is currently on track to be completed middle of February 2013.<\/p>\n<p>Facilities Committee Minutes<\/p>\n<p>Tuesday, September 22, 2012<\/p>\n<p>Page 2 of 2<\/p>\n<p>Current project status and anticipated progress for this September :<\/p>\n<p>o <strong>Building 700 \u2013 Main Building: <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Complete all system rough installations \u2013 Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing.<\/li>\n<li>Install exterior enclosures in order to begin interior drywall finish \u2013 roofing, exterior skins.<\/li>\n<li>Start site work planters and concrete flatwork adjacent to building.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>o <strong>Building 800 \u2013 Dorm Units: <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Complete all system rough installations \u2013 Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing.<\/li>\n<li>Install exterior enclosures in order to begin interior drywall finish \u2013 roofing, exterior skins.<\/li>\n<li>Start site work planters and concrete flatwork adjacent to building.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>o <strong>Building 900 \u2013 Student Lounge Building: <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Complete all system rough installations \u2013 Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing.<\/li>\n<li>Install exterior enclosures in order to begin interior drywall finish \u2013 roofing, exterior skins.<\/li>\n<li>Start site work planters and concrete flatwork adjacent to building.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>o <strong>Project Site-work: <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>All underground utilities are complete.<\/li>\n<li>Contractor will be grading site and concrete flatwork is scheduled to begin September.<\/li>\n<li>The contained underground planters are also scheduled to start this month along with the steel trellises.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>OTHER <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>MEETING DAY &amp; TIME: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In order to accommodate all the Faculty members of this committee, it was agreed by the committee to change the meeting time for the fall semester to noon.
