{"id":744,"date":"2012-12-11T15:43:53","date_gmt":"2012-12-11T15:43:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ct-test-wp.taftcollege.edu\/facilities\/?p=60"},"modified":"2012-12-11T15:43:53","modified_gmt":"2012-12-11T15:43:53","slug":"december-11-2012-minutes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/committees.taftcollege.edu\/facilities\/december-11-2012-minutes\/","title":{"rendered":"December 11, 2012 Minutes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>FACILITIES COMMITTEE MINUTES <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Tuesday, December 11, 2012<\/p>\n<p>12:00 pm \u2013 1:00 pm<\/p>\n<p>Cafeteria Conference Room<\/p>\n<p>Members Present: Brock McMurray, Claudia Casagrande, Craig Johnson, Greg Hawkins, Jeff Ross, Steven Ahan, Mike Capela, Sonja Swenson, Jose Vargas, Val Garcia and Debbie Hegeman as recorder.<\/p>\n<p>Members Absent: Adrian Agundez, Carla Sandoval and Ron Errea.<\/p>\n<p><strong>APPROVAL OF MINUTES <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The minutes of the meeting held October 30, 2012 were approved by consensus.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PROJECT UPDATE REPORT FOR CAMPUS FACILITIES: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Projects in Design: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Student Center: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This project is in the construction document phase. Meetings are being held with committee members for plan development to finalize the design. The project is still several months from being submitted to DSA. The current anticipated construction start date is summer of 2014 pending completion of the Dorm project. Renderings are in the process for campus presentation and should be ready for the next Facilities meeting.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Projects in Working Drawings: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Dorm Modernization: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Working drawings are at DSA being reviewed for DSA\/Code compliance. The project will go out for bids when we have the drawings back. The first phase on the dorm project is scheduled to start during the second quarter of 2013 pending TIL Center completion. The construction of the dorm project will run through the summer of 2013 for fall 2013 occupancy of Phase 1. Phase 2 will then follow for an overall project completion of January 2014 for spring semester use.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Projects in Construction: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Center for Independent Living (TIL): <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Center for Independent Living project has progressed to approximately 75% completion through November 2012. The project is currently on track to be completed beginning of March 2013.<\/p>\n<p>Current project status and anticipated progress for this month:<\/p>\n<p>o <strong>Building 700-Main Building:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Complete all system rough installations \u2013 Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing.<\/li>\n<li>Install exterior enclosures in order to begin interior drywall finish, roofing, exterior skins.<\/li>\n<li>Continue to work on planters and concrete flatwork adjacent to building.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>o <strong>Building 800 \u2013 Dorm Units:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Continue on interior finishes<\/li>\n<li>Continue with site planters and concrete flatwork adjacent to building.<\/li>\n<li>Finish exterior enclosure and have students transitioned during the spring 2013 break.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Facilities Committee<\/p>\n<p>December 11, 2012<\/p>\n<p>Page 2<\/p>\n<p>o <strong>Building 900 \u2013 Student Lounge Building:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Complete all system rough installations \u2013 Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing.<\/li>\n<li>Install exterior enclosures in order to begin interior drywall finish \u2013 roofing, exterior skins.<\/li>\n<li>Continue with site planters and concrete flatwork adjacent to building.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>o <strong>Project Site work:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Continuing with retaining wall construction, adding brick veneer. The Contractor will be grading site and concrete flatwork is scheduled to begin this month.<\/li>\n<li>The contained underground planters are also continuing this month along with the steel trellises.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Other: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Stem Tech Center<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>o AP is meeting with Staff to determine scope and budget. Staff is looking at the following spaces:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Classroom space for 40 students<\/li>\n<li>Lab space for 35 students<\/li>\n<li>Administrative space for 6 offices and a meeting room that can facilitate 12 people.<\/li>\n<li>Men\u2019s and Women\u2019s restrooms.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sign area at the circle drive in parking lot <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A question was rose in regards to when the area around the sign would be completed. According to AP the sign area is tied to the landscaping of the TIL building project and the parking lot.
