FACILITIES COMMITTEE MINUTES <\/strong><\/p>\n Tuesday, September 10, 2013<\/p>\n 12:00 pm \u2013 1:00 pm<\/p>\n Cafeteria Conference Room<\/p>\n Members Present:\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong>Brock McMurray, Carla Sandoval, Claudia Casagrande, Craig Johnson, Greg Hawkins, Mike Capela, and Sonja Swenson.<\/p>\n Members Absent: <\/strong>Adrian Agundez, Darcy Bogle, and Jeff Ross<\/p>\n Ad-hoc Member(s): <\/strong>Jose Vargas<\/p>\n Others Present: <\/strong>Debbie Hegeman, Recorder<\/p>\n FUTURE PROJECT PROPOSALS (FPP\u2019S) <\/strong><\/p>\n Technology Center <\/strong><\/p>\n 25,200 ASF<\/p>\n $27,210,000 total project cost ($543,000 Local)<\/p>\n Scheduled to be funded as a FY 15\/16 project (provided there is a statewide GP Bond in 11\/2014)<\/p>\n Project score \u2013 152 (perfect)<\/p>\n We were able to submit updated plans with a new location identified.<\/p>\n PROJECT UPDATES <\/strong><\/p>\n STEM Center: <\/strong>The committee has made some good progress this semester and will start back up in January with meetings for design. Several options for funding are being pursued. At the last meeting the committee met with the modular and furniture designers. The idea is to design a space that\u2019s flexible for the future and identify the space as labs.<\/p>\n Dorm Modernization: <\/strong>The Dorm Modernization Project began construction the first week of November 2013. The Contractor, Black\/Hall Construction, is in the initial phases of demolition on the project, both on the buildings and on the site work.<\/p>\n Student Center:<\/strong> Construction documents are in process. AP Architects is working with committee members and consultants to finalize drawings for submission to DSA later this month. The current anticipated construction start date is end of fourth quarter 2014 pending completion of the Dorm project.<\/p>\n CAMPUS SIGNAGE <\/strong><\/p>\n The new semester with the completed TIL center open, brought on a request for additional signage to assist with campus building direction. A draft was submitted to the committee from AP for review which is attached to the official minutes and on-line. Also discussed was whether there were funds to purchase an updated marquee sign.<\/p>\n Facilities Committee Minutes<\/p>\n Tuesday, November 12.2013<\/p>\n Page 2 of 2<\/p>\n OTHER <\/strong><\/p>\n Brock informed the committee we had received some Prop 39 funds which are for energy efficiency. Upcoming meetings have been scheduled to discuss the types of projects we will use the approximate $70,000+ funds for.<\/p>\n Also we were notified we would receive approximately $109,000 for deferred maintenance which will most likely be used to re-route chiller lines and infrastructure lines.<\/p>\n The shade structure which was to be in front of the stage is on hold due to the Student Center project changes but it could be included in the Vocational Center project.<\/p>\n .<\/p>\n Respectfully submitted:<\/p>\n ____________________<\/p>\n Debbie Hegeman<\/p>\n
