{"id":963,"date":"2021-11-29T17:52:32","date_gmt":"2021-11-29T17:52:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/committees.taftcollege.edu\/itc\/?page_id=963"},"modified":"2022-08-10T07:48:11","modified_gmt":"2022-08-10T14:48:11","slug":"charter","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/committees.taftcollege.edu\/itc\/charter\/","title":{"rendered":"Charter"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em>Information Technology Committee<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>ROLE OF THE INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY COMMITTEE:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Information Technology Committee serves as the central focal point to examine technology planning and operations at Taft College. The Committee provides a forum for input from all campus constituents and acts as a resource with regard to technology planning and operational effectiveness. The Committee receives input, recommends areas of interest, analyzes technology effectiveness, and makes recommendations regarding technology-related matters including campus technology training needs. The Committee leads the development of the Technology Master Plan and provides annual updates to the plan.<\/p>\n<p><strong>SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Coordinates technology plans and technology related operational issues.<\/li>\n<li>Leads the development of the Technology Master Plan.<\/li>\n<li>Reviews technology-related policies, including acceptable use policy, and procedures and serves as a communication link to campus constituents regarding campus technology.<\/li>\n<li>Gathers data, deliberates, and makes recommendations including new or revised policies and procedures to address technology use on campus.<\/li>\n<li>Assesses the need for technology training and makes recommendations to the Faculty Professional Development committee and Career Enrichment Committee.<\/li>\n<li>Evaluates, discusses, and recommends technology solutions to support student success and college operations.<\/li>\n<li>Serves as a point of contact for members of the campus community who wish to provide input on technology applications and infrastructure on the campus.<\/li>\n<li>Makes recommendations to Governance Council and other college committees regarding issues relating to campus technology.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>MEMBERSHIP REPRESENTATION:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Information Technology Committee consists of:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>VP, Information and Institutional Effectiveness (Co-Chair)<\/li>\n<li>Director, Distance Education (Co-Chair)<\/li>\n<li>VP of Instruction or designee<\/li>\n<li>VP of Student Services or designee<\/li>\n<li>Human Resources Representative<\/li>\n<li>Library Representative<\/li>\n<li>Information Technology Services Representative (up to 3)<\/li>\n<li>Transition to Independent Living (TIL) Representative<\/li>\n<li>Dean of Instruction and Career Technical Education (CTE) Representative or designee<\/li>\n<li>High Tech Access Specialist or designee<\/li>\n<li>Faculty (up to 3)<\/li>\n<li>Student Representative<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Total:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong><strong>Up to 16<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>MEMBERSHIP AND MEETING POLICIES: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Vice President of Information and Institutional Effectiveness and the Director of Distance Education co-chair this committee. The Information and Technology Services department secretary communicates the dates, times and meeting locations for the committee, and is responsible for taking and distributing minutes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MEETING SCHEDULING:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>The Committee shall meet on a monthly basis.<\/p>\n<p><strong>GUIDING PRINCIPLES FOR ALL GOVERNANCE COUNCIL COMMITTEES:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>All governance committee work at Taft College is expected to adhere to the following guiding principles and expectations<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Have integrity \u2013 to be ethical in all of their actions<\/li>\n<li>Ensure transparency<\/li>\n<li>Be self-regulating<\/li>\n<li>Be enthusiastic in matters pertaining to the Committee<\/li>\n<li>Be knowledgeable about the issues pertaining to the Committee<\/li>\n<li>Respond professionally<\/li>\n<li>Encourage others<\/li>\n<li>Be accountable<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Committee members further promise to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Maintain a working familiarity with the Committee procedures<\/li>\n<li>Meet the expectations being placed upon them<\/li>\n<li>Work within the committee mandate\/charter<\/li>\n<li>Take individual responsibility<\/li>\n<li>Lead by example<\/li>\n<li>Remain committed to doing the very best they can do to accomplish committee goals<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h1>Governance Committee Goal and Self- Evaluation Timeline<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li>Committees establish goals to be completed each academic year.<\/li>\n<li>Each fall the committees self-evaluate their progress on the previous academic year\u2019s goals and set the new set of goals on a form provided by the Governance Council.
