Friday, September 15, 2017

Counseling Center Conference Room

11:10 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Present: Paul Blake, Vicki Jacobi, Abbas Jarrahian, Mike Jiles, James May, Tina Mendoza, Debora Rodenhauser, and Terri Smith

The Charter was reviewed and was approved without changes.

The committee discussed the various offering during SLO Day. All sessions had good feedback. One suggestion for the upcoming cycle is to have a July 31st deadline for SLO assessment. Another idea that was suggested was to have a training day on Graduation Day when there is available time. The training would consist of basic SLO entry processes into eLumen and setting up assessments.

This agenda item was discussed with no action items. It was suggested that all courses embed this ISLO within their assessments. Data was limited due to low assessment activity within disciplines.

This ISLO will be assessed during the fall semester. Transferrable courses should have an element of Critical Thinking assessment. John Eigenauer conducted a session during the fall SLO Day. This session was very helpful to the attendees that participated. Different strategies were discussed on assessing this ISLO.

A brief discussion was had on how to continue the evaluation of this ISLO. Different global topics were described and strategies were discussed on how to embed in assessments within disciplines.
