{"id":55,"date":"2015-06-04T15:12:23","date_gmt":"2015-06-04T15:12:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ct-test-wp.taftcollege.edu\/sloasc\/?p=55"},"modified":"2015-06-04T15:12:23","modified_gmt":"2015-06-04T15:12:23","slug":"friday-february-24-2012","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/committees.taftcollege.edu\/sloasc\/friday-february-24-2012\/","title":{"rendered":"Friday, February 24, 2012"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>MINUTES <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Friday, February 24, 2012<\/p>\n<p>11:10 a.m. \u2013 12:00 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Present: Linda West, Vicki Herder, Geoffrey Dyer, Joe\u2019ll Chaidez David Reynolds, Brandy Cramer, David Layne<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong> Approval of Minutes from January 20, 2011 <\/strong>The Minutes from January 20, 2012 were approved unanimously without changes.<\/li>\n<li><strong> Commission Concern <\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>The letter from the ACCJC regarding Taft College\u2019s reaffirmation of accreditation was distributed. The ACCJC has expressed a concern with regard to SLO\u2019s and meeting the standards at the proficiency level as laid out in the rubric for Institutional Effectiveness.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li><strong> Current Status \u2013 Rubric for Institutional Effectiveness <\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>The committee went over each point on the rubric<\/li>\n<li>First bullet: Authentic Assessment \u2013 training will be provided for faculty to help facilitate conversations about authentic assessment. The committee members will go back to their divisions and find examples of authentic assessment that already exist and have been used.<\/li>\n<li><u>Second bullet: Institutional wide dialog <\/u>\u2013 Use FIG agendas or notes, World Caf\u00e9, Course Improvement Plans, Program Improvement Plans from program reviews and project goals as evidence that this has taken place.<\/li>\n<li><u>Third bullet: Decision-making <\/u>\u2013 Use same resources as listed in second bullet.<\/li>\n<li><u>Fourth bullet: Allocation of resources <\/u>\u2013 Program review and program goals can be used.<\/li>\n<li><u>Fifth bullet: Comprehensive assessment outcomes <\/u>\u2013 eLumen reports.<\/li>\n<li><u>Sixth bullet: CSLOs aligned with PSLOs <\/u>\u2013 eLumen mapping structure.<\/li>\n<li>Seventh bullet: Student awareness \u2013 CCCSE survey and in class questioning of students; gaining input.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>1<\/p>\n<ol start=\"4\">\n<li><strong> Distribute eLumen Statistics and Evidence Reports <\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>Committee members will take reports back to their divisions for review. Next meeting, Degree and Certificate status reports will be handed out for review. Committee members will discuss any comments or requests from divisions regarding reports.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"5\">\n<li><strong> Training for New and Adjunct Faculty <\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>The committee will discuss in further detail what kind of training should be offered during inservice. The need for authentic assessment training has been agreed upon as well as training for eLumen coordinators.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"6\">\n<li><strong> Other <\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>The committee discussed the issue of student drops and the need to emphasize the drop procedure during student orientation. Vicki will discuss this with Darcy. The committee also decided to take the concern back to their divisions and possibly put the item on the Academic Senate agenda for discussion.<\/li>\n<li>Art gallery jam session.
