Minutes of the Strategic Planning Committee<\/strong><\/span> Members Present:<\/strong> Sam Aunai, Eric B\u00e9rub\u00e9, Darcy Bogle, Agnes Eguaras, Greg Hawkins,\u00a0Vicki Jacobi, Mark Williams<\/p>\n Members Absent:<\/strong> David Layne<\/p>\n Guests Present:<\/strong> Alex Castro, Brandy Young<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Agenda:<\/strong><\/p>\n 1. Approval of Minutes of the March 21, 2014 meeting<\/strong><\/p>\n The minutes were approved by consensus.<\/p>\n 2. Institution-Set Standards \u2013 Eric<\/strong><\/p>\n Objective:<\/strong> Produce recommendation for Governance Council on a set of Institution-Set Standards.<\/p>\n The SPC members came to consensus on the following:<\/p>\n 1. There should be six measures for Institution-Set Standards:<\/p>\n TCS 1: Retention \u2013 enrolled in at least one class by end of term<\/p>\n TCS 2: Successful Course Completion \u2013 completion with a passing grade<\/p>\n TCS 3: Persistence \u2013 enrolling in all of first 3 consecutive terms<\/p>\n TCS 4: 30 Units \u2013 completing 30 units within three years<\/p>\n TCS 5: Remedial \u2013 starting pre-college completing college-level (English, Math and\/or ESL)<\/p>\n TCS 6: Completion \u2013 completing a degree, certificate, transfer related outcome, or a course sequence in a CTE discipline<\/p>\n 2. Cohorts would be defined as fall first time full time students although this would not preclude looking at other groups as appropriate.<\/p>\n 3. Each measure should be disaggregated on a number of variables including but not limited to age group, gender, race\/ethnicity, discipline, and program.<\/p>\n 4. Disproportionate impact on any disaggregated measure would be defined by the \u201c80% Rule,\u201d which states that any subpopulation within the disaggregated data that falls below 80% of the highest performing subpopulation would trigger further investigation.<\/p>\n 5. Small N would be taken into account when looking at disproportionate impact.<\/p>\n 6. Specifics for who (committees, programs, etc) looks at specific disaggregated data and guidelines for what to do about findings of disproportionate impact would be decided upon in future meetings.<\/p>\n 3.
