{"id":467,"date":"2017-10-12T16:13:36","date_gmt":"2017-10-12T16:13:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ct-test-wp.taftcollege.edu\/spc\/?p=467"},"modified":"2017-10-12T16:13:36","modified_gmt":"2017-10-12T16:13:36","slug":"strategic-planning-minutes-march-10-2017","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/committees.taftcollege.edu\/spc\/strategic-planning-minutes-march-10-2017\/","title":{"rendered":"Strategic Planning &#8211; Minutes March 10, 2017"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Minutes<\/strong><strong> of the <\/strong><strong>Strategic Planning Committee <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Special Meeting<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Friday, March 10, 2017<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Counseling Center Conference Room<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Members Present:<\/strong> Primavera Arvizu, Severo Balason, Eric B\u00e9rub\u00e9, Vicki Jacobi,<br \/>\nMichelle Oja and Mark Williams<\/p>\n<p><strong>Members Absent: <\/strong>Anthony Cordova and Jon Carrithers<\/p>\n<p><strong>Secretary: <\/strong>Brandy Young<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Status Update &#8211; ACCJC Annual Report<br \/>\n<\/u><\/strong>The SPC had a special meeting today to continue the discussion on the ACCJC Annual Report that is due at the end of March 2017. Key points of discussion were:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Question #1 &#8211; 7 &#8211; completed by the IR Office<\/li>\n<li>Question #8 \u2013 to be completed by Office of Instruction<\/li>\n<li>Question #9 \u2013 completed by the IR Office<\/li>\n<li>Question #10 \u2013 the answer is yes<\/li>\n<li>Question #11 \u2013 completed by the IR Office<\/li>\n<li>Question #12 a \u2013 there was much discussion on how this number is calculated. Eric will check earlier reports. It was decided that a baseline and an annual increase be used. Each year the calculation will be evaluated.<\/li>\n<li>Question #12 b \u2013 completed by the IR Office<\/li>\n<li>Question #13 a \u2013 proportion projection: headcount\/degrees awarded (excluding Westec).<\/li>\n<li>Question #13 b \u2013 there was a question if the \u201cW\u2019s\u201d were included in the computation. Eric will check with Velda to see if this is so. He believes that they are excluded. There was discussion as to why the 2015 count for numbers of degrees awarded is different from 2016. In the 2016 report the count was 294. This year\u2019s calculation is 300. Eric stated that this may be due to the way the questions are phrased. Last year the report is asking for Calendar year. This year it is asking for Academic year. Eric will look in to this.<\/li>\n<li>Question #14 a \u2013 calculation same as question #13 a<\/li>\n<li>Question #14 b \u2013 completed by the IR office<\/li>\n<li>Question #15 a \u2013 number of student\u2019s that have indicated transfer as a goal, see the percentage, estimate and turn it in to a probability \u2013 IR office has the data for transfer<\/li>\n<li>Question #15 b \u2013 the Chancellor\u2019s Office compiles this information from a number of sources including the Clearinghouse. This information will be made available soon.<\/li>\n<li>Question #16 \u2013 the answer is 2. Dental Hygiene has a degree and a certificate.<\/li>\n<li>Question #17 \u2013 the answer is 7. This number comes from what was reported on the 2016 report. The seven programs are: Criminal Justice, Welding, ECE, Administration Services, Dental Hygiene, Energy, and IES. Mark will follow up on this. Eric will check with the EDD to confirm the programs.<\/li>\n<li>Question #18 \u2013 Stacy Eastman\/Dental Hygiene will provide this information.<\/li>\n<li>Question #19 \u2013 this will only be Dental Hygiene. This is because the rules of the report state to only <em>list each program where reliable data is available and where there were at least 10 students who completed the program in the designated year. <\/em>It was suggested that the data be pulled to confirm. Use TOP code and SAM code.<\/li>\n<li>Question #20 a \u2013 completed by Vicki \u2013 there is a Follow-Up report to the ACCJC regarding previous Annual Reports. The numbers for this year should change.<\/li>\n<li>Question #20 b &#8211; Vicki will continue working on this.<\/li>\n<li>Question #21 a \u2013 completed by Vicki.<\/li>\n<li>Question #21 b \u2013 completed by Vicki.<\/li>\n<li>Question #22 a \u2013 completed by Vicki. (Look for Annual Report with handwritten notes).
