{"id":107,"date":"2019-08-14T23:25:30","date_gmt":"2019-08-14T23:25:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/committees.taftcollege.edu\/student-success\/?page_id=107"},"modified":"2021-11-10T21:17:10","modified_gmt":"2021-11-10T21:17:10","slug":"charter","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/committees.taftcollege.edu\/student-success\/charter\/","title":{"rendered":"Charter"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4>NAME OF COMMITTEE:<\/h4>\n<p><strong><em>Student Success Committee<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>MISSION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Promote a campus-wide culture that fosters and supports student learning, success, and goal completion.<\/p>\n<p><strong>SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Review and analyze college student success<\/li>\n<li>Develop broad, comprehensive strategies for improving student<\/li>\n<li>Analyze and understand the common barriers and momentum points that students<\/li>\n<li>Use data to identify patterns of demand to inform schedule building to support student goal completion.<\/li>\n<li>In conjunction with the Access Committee, review methods to improve the integration and alignment of student success efforts across the various plans, including the Integrated<\/li>\n<li>Report and make recommendations to the Governance Council and other college committees regarding issues relating to student<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>MEMBERSHIP REPRESENTATION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Student Success Committee consists of:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Vice President, Student Services or Designee<\/li>\n<li>Dean, Student Success<\/li>\n<li>Dean, Instruction &amp; Career Technical Education<\/li>\n<li>Director, Admissions and Records<\/li>\n<li>Director, Distance Education<\/li>\n<li>Division Chair, Learning Support Division<\/li>\n<li>Vice President, Information and Institutional Effectiveness or Designee<\/li>\n<li>(1) Faculty Representative appointed by Academic Senate<\/li>\n<li>(1) Classified Representative appointed by CSEA<\/li>\n<li>Pre-Collegiate Success Coordinator<\/li>\n<li>Student Representative appointed by ASO<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>MEMBERSHIP AND MEETING POLICIES<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Vice President of Student Services or Designee will serve as the Committee Chair. The person serving as chair in any particular meeting shall not vote in that meeting except in the case of a tie. The recording secretary will be responsible to the Chair for contacting the members of the Committee, taking and distributing minutes, and setting the dates, times, and meeting room for each meeting.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MEETING SCHEDULING, AGENDAS, AND MINUTES<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Committee shall meet once a month to accomplish its goals and responsibilities.<\/p>\n<p><strong>REVIEW<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Charter will be reviewed annually by the Committee and recommendations for changes shall be submitted to the Governance Council.<\/p>\n<p><strong>GUIDING PRINCIPLES AND EXPECTATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Committee members shall:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>have integrity\u2014be ethical in all their actions<\/li>\n<li>be enthusiastic in matters pertaining to the Committee<\/li>\n<li>be knowledgeable about the issues pertaining to the Committee<\/li>\n<li>lead by example<\/li>\n<li>encourage others<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Committee members further promise to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>maintain a working familiarity with the Committee procedures<\/li>\n<li>meet the expectations being placed upon them<\/li>\n<li>work within the Student Success Committee mandate\/charter<\/li>\n<li>take individual responsibility<\/li>\n<li>remain committed to doing the very best they can do to accomplish committee goals<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ct-test-wp.taftcollege.edu\/student-success\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/42\/2014\/09\/Student-Success-Committee-Charter-updated-10-14-15.docx\">Student Success Committee Charter-updated 10-14-15<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/committees.taftcollege.edu\/student-success\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2019\/08\/Student-Success-Committee-Charter-updated1.docx\">Student-Success-Committee-Charter-updated<\/a><\/p>\n<h4><a href=\"http:\/\/committees.taftcollege.edu\/student-success\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2021\/11\/Student-Success-Committee-Charter-Fall-21-10.14.21-Final.pdf\" class=\"mtli_attachment mtli_pdf\">Student Success Committee Charter Fall 21 (10.14.21) Final<\/a><\/h4>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NAME OF COMMITTEE:  Student Success Committee    MISSION    Promote a campus-wide culture that fosters and supports student learning, success, and goal completion.
