{"id":99,"date":"2014-11-13T17:50:01","date_gmt":"2014-11-13T17:50:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ct-test-wp.taftcollege.edu\/student-success\/?p=99"},"modified":"2014-11-13T17:50:01","modified_gmt":"2014-11-13T17:50:01","slug":"student-success-minutes-november-13-2014","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/committees.taftcollege.edu\/student-success\/student-success-minutes-november-13-2014\/","title":{"rendered":"Student Success \u2013 Minutes November 13, 2014"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>STUDENT SUCCESS COMMITTEE MINUTES<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\nThursday, November 13, 2014<br \/>\n2:00 pm \u2013 3:30 pm<\/p>\n<p><strong>Members Present:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\">Candace Duron and Stacie Rancano<\/p>\n<p><strong>Approval of Minutes<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\">Minutes for the 10\/9\/14 meeting were approved with a correction to the date noted for the next meeting to reflect Thursday.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Committee Goals<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Darcy requested members to create committee goals to achieve the mission of the committee.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Strategic Plan<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Darcy reviewed the District\u2019s Strategic Action Plan which was created from the Master Education Plan.<\/li>\n<li>The Strategic Action Plan outlines specific objectives in areas such as student learning\/success, equity, business\/industry\/community, facilities, and institutional planning\/effectiveness along with action items, due dates, expected outcomes, and champion (responsible party).<\/li>\n<li>She asked the member to review the Strategic Action Plan and visualize how to incorporate these with the committee\u2019s goals.<\/li>\n<li>Darcy stated we need to review the Institutional Learning Outcomes (ILOs) and align them with our goals to create Student Service Outcomes for program effectiveness.<\/li>\n<li>Darcy suggested a student survey to begin the process of reviewing the effectiveness of our programs and services. She would like to review the results in December.<\/li>\n<li>If you have any feedback on the Strategic Action Plan, please email Darcy or Eric B\u00e9rub\u00e9.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Data Teams<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Create data teams to analyze data such as surveys, reports, etc. to review effectiveness and equity of services and programs for our students.<\/li>\n<li>Implement plans and ideas to build support for student success at Taft College.<\/li>\n<li>The data teams will be working groups with leads and will help determine the best way to impact students\u2019 base on the data studied.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Other<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It was suggested that the Student Services staff participate in quarterly team-building activities to help strengthen relationships and build moral within the department.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Next Meeting<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Thursday, December 11, 2014, 2:10-3:30pm, Cougar Room<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ct-test-wp.taftcollege.edu\/student-success\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/42\/2015\/08\/Student-Success-Minutes-11.13.14.docx\">Student Success Minutes (11.13.14)<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>STUDENT SUCCESS COMMITTEE MINUTES Thursday, November 13, 2014 2:00 pm \u2013 3:30 pm Members Present: Candace Duron and Stacie Rancano Approval of Minutes Minutes for the 10\/9\/14 meeting were approved with a correction to the date noted for the next meeting to reflect Thursday.
